Club Rules
The Club welcomes, indeed actively encourages, constructive criticism of fellow members' (‘Clubbers’) taste in music.
Clubbers should refrain from nominating 'Best of' or 'Greatest Hits' compilations, giving preference instead to an album in its entirety, as originally intended by the artist(s).
Club meetings involve selecting albums for the listening pleasure of fellow Clubbers. Following the inaugural meeting selection of a single significant album - Jack White’s monumental Blunderbuss - in 2012 Clubbers subsequently agreed to select one album per person, extending the collective auditory experience and fostering a shared love and respect of fellow Clubbers’ taste. After all, what part of life is more gratifying, generous, and joyful than sharing good music? Albums are now chosen under the following categories:
Classic: A record that must pass the eardrums of every Clubber.
New release: Fresh out, like the green shoots of Spring.
Wild card: Left field, experimental, unpredictable. Is this really music?
Genre-bender (est. January 2015): A genre-defining album, a seminal moment in music that begins to carve a new path.
